The aim of the gallery is to give focus to artists with fresh ideas whilst still holding true to skilled craftsmanship. Art is selected from upcoming and established local and international artists.

Gallerist, Georgia Eccles, started her first art business in 2002, exporting collections of South African art by established and emerging artists to the UK. There, the works were exhibited across London at pop-up exhibitions, art fairs and galleries. The exporting business turned into an agency representing several Cape Town-based artists, which, over time, evolved into the need for a local gallery. Soon enough, Georgia found herself in the perfect space at the perfect time, and Art in the Yard gallery became a reality.

With a good balance between local artists and international names, there is something enticing to be found for every art lover at this centrally situated venue in the Winelands.
